We are delighted to announce the first solo exhibition in London of Masao Hatayama, a renowned Japanese artist whose vibrant and distinctive style has gained international acclaim. Based in Osaka, Hatayama began his artistic journey as a self-taught artist, developing a unique ability to transform everyday scenes into vivid compositions that convey energy and courage to viewers.

While Hatayama primarily works with acrylic paint on canvas, his creative endeavours extend beyond traditional media. He has collaborated with public institutions and corporations, participated in art projects at events such as Summer Sonic, and in 2017, he fully painted Japan’s first art tourism boat, the “HataPOP Liner.” His reputation continues to grow internationally, with successful live painting performances in Turin and Paris and participation in prestigious art fairs, including those at the Louvre Museum. His first solo exhibition outside Japan is scheduled for 2018 at the Monariza Gallery in Paris, marking a significant expansion of his global influence.
